The message today deals a lot with
the subject of TIME. I have
preached other messages over the years, from other portions of Scripture, on
this topic. It’s a huge subject that
touches each of our lives. Actually, our
life is wrapped up in TIME. Our life
(time) varies in length from that of another, but each of us have 60 seconds in
a minute; 60 minutes in an hour; 24 hours in a day; 7 days in a week; etc. The question is: “How are we spending our time?”
Today’s message is another in my
series on The Life of the Apostle Paul. The
Scripture passage is Acts 17:16-34,
with an emphasis on verses 21, 24-26. From these verses, God’s Word shows us some
things about the TIME that we possess.
As we approach Thanksgiving Day (this Thursday), are we spending our time (life) “with thanksgiving in our heart” (as our
closing song says)? Are we spending our
time raising our voices in giving Him
glory and honor? Oh, may our voices not be used in grumbling;
complaining; fault-finding; etc. Let us
not forget that we ARE in His
presence: continually; wherever we are at.
(The Lord willing, I plan to bring an additional message from this
passage of Scripture – probably next week.)
This coming Wednesday evening we are
not going to have the regular format of Prayer (6:30) and Bible Study
(7:00). Since it is the evening before
Thanksgiving, we will have a time of singing, testimonies of praise for the
Lord’s presence and goodness to us throughout this last year. I am planning on a short “devotional” message,
not the typical Bible Study. This will
not be a time to come and “get”, but to “give”. Come willing and ready to give the Lord a testimony (offering) of
praise and thanksgiving. (This will start at 7:00.)
