We are currently doing a devotional study through the book of Matthew. The format of this study is not lecture, but conversational: a guided discussion. The Bible says "Iron sharpens iron," (Prov. 27:17). God uses us to sharpen one another as we study His Word in this way.
The men and women often separate for a prayer time following our Bible Study. This is a precious opportunity to share how things are going, and the concerns we might have, and then to pray one for another!
